The new instalment in the famous Zelda franchise is an excellent adventure game.

In 1998, the first Zelda game was released, and became a huge hit. The new game, “Ocarina of Time”, is based on the successful formula of its predecessors and offers a game that is easy to play, has great graphics and offers a fascinating world of adventure.

You play the part of Link, a Hylian, who travels through time and space, searching for Ganondorf, your nemesis. You have to find your way through dark mazes, get across the Hyrule fields, swim across Lake Hyrule, climb over Death Mountain and get through Gerudo Desert. On your way, you collect various items that are necessary to perform tasks, or to unlock doors to new levels. Periodically, you have to solve different puzzles that you encounter.

The game has a lot of content, and even experienced players will need several days to complete the adventure. This is a game you can enjoy for a really long time.  The 3D graphics are great, the best we have seen on 3DS so far.

”The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” is a great adventure game that comes highly recommended.

Child suitability:
The game depicts a fictitious adventure world, and contains no scary visual elements. Still, the game has a recommended age limit of 12, and is labelled with “Violence”. This is due to a large number of creatures that has to be defeated to battle throughout the game. However, as the screen size of the Nintendo 3DS is quite small, the battle scenes are depicted with a low level of detail.

Level of difficulty:

3-11 years: Under the age limit.

12-15 years: At the start of the game, the levels are easy; though, as you advance in levels the level of difficulty increases. The game is well suited to this age group, as players are given useful hints and get to watch short instructional video clips that teach you how to play.

16+: The game is well suited to young people and adults alike.

Suggested age group: Suitable for children from 12 years.

Format: Nintendo 3DS

PEGI: 12, violence
