Sonic the hedgehog celebrates his 20th anniversary, and and to celebrate, SEGA has released an action filled and fun game that comes highly recommended.

Sonic is a familiar character in the gaming world. In this game, the modern Sonic is introduced. Or rather, you can choose to play the missions as either the classic Sonic; jumping, running and speeding through the stages, or, to play as the new and modern Sonic, sliding in supersonic speeds down railings or using super powers to do special tricks. Both modes are quite fun, and if you are new to Sonic games, you’ll need some hours to master the game play.

Your mission is to unlock various worlds and save your frozen friends. You’ll accomplish this by playing through all the stages with both the old-school and the modern Sonic.

The classic version is somewhat similar to the Mario games. In a 2D gaming world your task is to collect coins and get through the stages in one piece. The modern stages, however, are more like Mario on speed. The pace is tremendous, enough to get you dizzy, and you need to do your very best to get through the stages. It’s also possible to play the game online with your friends.

”Sonic Generations” provides a fun gaming experience that can be shared with the whole family. In one sequence following the first stage, there is a scary sequence that might be frightening to the youngest children. Still, this is an excellent game that comes highly recommended.

Child suitability:
It's easy to get a hang of the game. Some children aged seven or eight might find the scary sequence uncomfortable, but for most children, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Level of difficulty:

3-6 years: Under the age limit.

7-11 years: An excellent game for this age group.

12-15 years: Even young people may have several hours of fun playing this game.

16+: The game will appeal to Sonic fans of all ages.

Suggested age group: Suitable for children from 7 years.

Format: PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS

PEGI: 7
