”Rango” is a great, imaginative and fun game, based on the film of the same name. Hold your hat on steady and keep your gun ready: It’s Rango time!

You play as Rango, a tiny chameleon, who has been appointed sheriff in Dirt, a small western town. Super villains Rattlesnake Jake and Bad Bill serve up plenty of trouble, and the stage is set for our hero to preserve law and order.

You play, or rather, shoot your way through an imaginative western universe that includes dusty desert landscapes and science-fiction like settings. Everywhere, you encounter strange creatures that you have to deal with, and you constantly need to use your gun. You are rewarded for defeating the bad guys, by receiving health, ammo and other bonuses.

On your way, you need to solve a variety of tasks that require some figuring out. On the other hand, you can also look forward to enjoying breathtaking races and high speed train chases – classic western elements which provide a lot of fun in eight different missions.

To quote Rango: "This gets weird." If you like westerns, crazy humour, animation and action, “Rango” is an excellent choice.

Child suitability:
It takes some figuring out how to complete some of the levels. Still, you can choose between three different levels of difficulty, which makes the game suitable for several age groups. You are also given tips and short tutorials throughout the game.

The game is labelled with ”violence”, due to a lot of shooting and fighting. You’ll encounter a large number of opponents that you need to shoot or defeat. The gaming world is obviously fictional, and for this reason, the violence isn’t particularly realistic.

The graphics are excellent – there are several exciting, visually thrilling and great levels.

As many other games based on a film: The game is a bit on the short side, and it doesn’t take long to finish the game. As well as this, it’s only possible to play one player at a time. This is unfortunate, as the game could have been great for a group of friends.

In our experience, it is better to play ”Rango” on a gaming console than on Nintendo DS.

Level of difficulty:

3-6 years: Under the age limit

7-11 years: The game is well suited for this age group; however, it does contain some violence.

12+: The game is well suited for young people and adults alike.

Suggested age: Suitable for children from 7 years.

Format: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 og Nintendo DS

PEGI: 7, violence
