This Nintendo Wii game is a good choice for anyone who likes draw-and-guess games. “Pictionary” is a team game and requires uDraw – the drawing tablet.

It’s quite simple: Divide the participants in two teams. One team selects a team member to draw, while the other team tries to guess what the drawing depicts: Is it a monkey? A bouquet of flowers? A zombie? If you choose correctly, you can roll the virtual dice and move closer to the finish line.

During some rounds, you can draw freehand with the uDraw tablet pen. At other times, you're only allowed to illustrate with squares or other pre-defined shapes. Every second counts, as the time counts down on screen. Are you able to guess what the artist draws before time runs out?

As a game, ”Pictionary” is neither revolutionary nor unique; still, it offers a lot of fun for a family or group of friends. With everybody gathered around the drawing tablet, there will be laughter, tomfoolery and creative drawing aplenty, and, for this reason, we award this game Kids and Media’s recommended badge.

Note that the game is not suited for one player only, and you need the uDraw tablet, which is sold separately.

Child suitability:
The uDraw tablet works fine for the game's purpose. The concept is simple, and it’s easy to figure out what to do. The game has a TV show feeling to it, and the graphics and sounds are simple and functional. A colourful and child friendly game.

Level of difficulty:

3-6 years: The youngest children might find it difficult to draw some figures, especially if they need to use pre-defined shapes. It takes a little technique and motor skills to use the drawing board, which could pose a problem, especially under time pressure. Still, with a little goodwill from the other players, and, perhaps, some help from someone older, children from 5 years of age could enjoy the game.

7-11 years: The game will also appeal to this age group.

12+: The game is well suited for young people and adults who enjoy draw-and-guess games.

Suggested age: Suitable for children from 5 years.
