Mario Tennis Open
07.06.2012
Mario is amazing at most things – including tennis.
In Mario Tennis Open, Super Mario faces his friends, as well as his enemies, at the tennis courts for fun matches in a variety of tournaments, such as Mushroom Open. What makes the game fun is the simple fact that you’ll play on courts and hit strokes that vary from realistic to weird, surreal and hilarious stuff.
All the characters are known from the world of Super Mario, but you can also choose to play as one of the Mii characters on your console. You are free to choose between several modes of play, or which tournament to participate in. As you play, you’ll earn equipment and other stuff, and these rewards fuel the motivation to improve: By winning single matches and tournaments, you’ll be able to upgrade your player, and thus be better equipped to face expected as well as unexpected challenges on the tennis courts.
You control the gameplay by using the buttons on the right hand side of the 3DS console. Coloured circles guide you to choose the best strokes and combinations. It’s easy to play, but difficult to master the game. This makes the game appeal to several age groups. Even experienced players will be facing some difficult challenges.
The game has a multiplayer mode – you can play either by linking up several 3DS consoles in the same room, or by playing against other players online. You can play both singles and doubles matches.
