This racing game, which is inspired by arcade racing games from the 1980s and street cars of today, brings back memories of good old "Mario Kart 64".

For those who might wonder, this is not a car simulator game. This game provides unrealistic fun, without too much basis in reality. The physics engine is decent; the cars behave differently, making it important to choose the right car for specific track conditions. As the racing begins, and we start picking up power-ups and blast our opponents sky-high, all resemblance to reality is left behind. The game provides fun driving pleasure spiced up by wild effects. In the career mode, you will be awarded for your achievements along the way, and this mode provides hours on end of entertainment.

As well as this, you can compete with a friend in two player mode. Unfortunately, the playability of the game is hampered by the division of the screen. However, by playing online you avoid this problem. All in all, ”Blur” is a well made game that is easy to learn, fun to play and you will definitely get  your moneys’ worth of entertainment.

Child suitability:
The game is labelled with ”Violence”; however, the blowing up of cars bears no resemblance to reality, and for this reason, the game is suitable for children from 10 years of age.

Still, it’s not possible to give this game our unreserved recommendation.

Level of difficulty:

3-6 years: Under the age limit.

7-11 years: The game is a bit difficult, especially for the youngest children in this age group.

12+: This is a fun game for everyone who enjoys racing games.

Suggested age: Suitable for children from 10 years.

Format: PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

PEGI: 7, violence, online

Our Assessment: Recommended
