On our last itemised telephone bill it says that our son has large WAP expenses. What does WAP mean?

WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol – a protocol for transmission of data over the mobile phone network. It is relatively expensive to download webpages to your mobile. You pay only for the number of pages downloaded, not for the time you spend reading them. It can be both practical and tempting to use mobiles for computer traffic, and there are great differences in price levels between the different operators if you don’t have set rates.
