Online Summer Safety Tips

How do you keep young children and teenagers safe online during the summer holidays, when they spend a lot of time home alone while their parents are at work?

Chances are children will spend a lot of time online during the summer, and it is in the best interest of parents to make sure that their children are not victimised in any way.

Enough is Enough is a US non-profit organisation whose mission is to make the Internet safer for children and families. In an informative and useful news feature, EIE Communications Director, Cris Clapp Logan joined Fox News with online safety practices for children of all ages.

Just press the play button at the top of the right hand column to watch the video clip.

EIE’s Online Safety Tips:
  • Keep the lines of communication open.
  • Create a list of Internet rules with your children.
  • Set parental controls at age-appropriate levels.
  • Use filtering and monitoring tools as a complement, not a replacement for parental supervision.

Enough is Enough has pioneered efforts to confront online pornography, child pornography, child stalking, sexual predation, cyber bullying, and other forms of online victimisation in the US.
