Play as your favourite superhero and defeat hordes of enemies in Latvia’s dark back alleys.

In “Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2” you can make your own team with four superheroes. Choose among all of Marvel’s heroes, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, The Thing and The Fantastic Four. During the game you can choose freely between the four members of your team, and play as whoever you like. All the heroes have different strengths and weaknesses, and a good team needs to have heroes with abilities that complement each other. You can also exchange your heroes with other ones. As you fight your way through the game you receive experience points, which can be used to upgrade your heroes. The button functions are very simple; usually you only use two or three buttons. Now and then you can strike your opponent with a super attack. A gauge in the top left corner shows how long you can use a super attack, and when it is empty it will automatically be filled again. On the other side of the screen there is another gauge. When this is full you can use two superheroes and make a really powerful super attack that will obliterate your enemies.

When you have played for a few hours you will realise that the game is a bit monotonous. In addition, at times the battlefield is so filled with enemies that you hardly see your own character. But if you’re into superheroes and intense pushing of buttons this could be a game to your liking.

Child suitability:
”Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2” isn’t the most brutal game in the genre. All the fights usually take place in large clusters and are seen from a distance, and for this reason the violence isn’t very graphic. There are no bloody scenes, but unfortunately there is some bad language. Also note that this game has a 16 year age limit on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while it has a 12 year age limit on the other consoles (PS2, PSP, DS and Wii). The reason for this is mostly that the graphics are far better on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Score:
2

Suggested age:
Not suitable for children.

PEGI:
16, violence, bad language.

Format: PlayStation 3, Xbox360
