My Sims Agents

EA have finally succeeded in making a good and entertaining Sims-game for Nintendo Wii. ”My Sims Agents” offers a number of challenges and is suitable for children from school age.
This has become the fifth Sims-game released for Nintendo Wii, and this time the developers have chosen to leave the usual Sims-universe. In this game the Sims lead an unusual life. Become a secret agent and investigate crime both within and beyond your town.
In the beginning of the game you help the town’s inhabitants with small investigations. As you succeed in your missions, you’re quickly discovered by special agent Walker. He sees your potential to become a great agent, and gives you the responsibility for an agency just outside of town. And so you get your own agency, and can recruit other agents to work for you. These agents can be sent on smaller missions, while you take care of the bigger ones. You receive continual feedback from your agents about developments in their missions, and they you for advice. All the agents have different abilities. For this reason it’s important to choose the right agent for each mission. When you and your agents have solved a case you’re rewarded with furniture and things to decorate the agency. The game is mostly about talking to people and having dialogues. This will continually give you new leads that will take you closer to solving the case. You have a good selection of equipment, which must be used to move on in the game. You start with a crowbar, a magnifying glass and a spanner, and you eventually end up with better and more professional equipment. You constantly meet small challenges, like solving little mini-games where you for example have to repair something or pick locks. The level of difficulty in the mini-games varies greatly, and they get more challenging as you go along.
The graphics are not very detailed, but are colourful and poetic. The sound is maybe the game’s weakest element. The developers have chosen to let the Sims talk an incomprehensible language instead of finding voiceovers, which would have made the game easier to understand for the youngest. All in all ”My Sims Agents” is a successful and good game suitable for the whole family.
Child suitability:
”My Sims Agents” is a child friendly game with no forms of violence. Seeing as it is exclusively explained via text, good reading abilities are required. This can create problems for the youngest, but with good help from a kind parent this will probably be okay.
