Kirby Super Star Ultra
Join the pink ball Kirby in a simple gaming world full of challenges. This game is suitable for both girls and boys from seven years of age.
Kirby is one of Nintendo’s weirdest heroes. He is all pink and looks like a ball. But don’t be fooled, “Kirby Super Ultra” has a rare playability. The whole game is set in a 2D-world, where both the landscape and the characters are simple. What makes this game one of the really good titles for Nintendo DS is the drive to advance in the game. The main game consists of a number of levels, and after a while you get many different abilities to use against the enemies you meet. Kirby can, amongst other things, pull his enemies into his mouth, and then make them disappear by spitting them out again. The game also contains several mini-games where you use the stylus to shoot at targets. You can choose between three levels of difficulty. At the highest levels, most of the mini-games are a little too difficult, and some of them simply hopeless to master. The music is typical for Nintendo: simple, but never annoying. The only problem is that Nintendo DS has a much bigger potential than what has been utilised here. The game should to a much larger degree exploit the machine’s many abilities and functions. But all in all, this game is good entertainment for those who like simple, 2D, progress from left-to-right games.Child suitability:
Kirby is very simple to steer, but the game can be a little too difficult for the very youngest. Most of what you need to know is explained in short video clips before each story in the game. The cover will probably appeal mostly to girls, but don’t be fooled. This is a good and entertaining game that suits both girls and boys. Because of the level of difficulty we recommend players be at least seven years old to enjoy the game’s full potential.
Suggested age: Suitable for children from 7 years.
