Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords

23.11.2009

Puzzle Quest has an exciting storyline with many well known fairytale characters. Can you defeat the evil warlord and put an end to the living dead´s destruction?

Puzzle Quest is a role play based on the “lining up three in a row” game. You´re the queen´s right hand, and choose what type of character you want to play; Paladin, Mage, Warrior or Druid. You go on missions that take you around the world, and you have to fight against many opponents, like the living dead, orcs and gremlins. In the battles themselves the principle of “three in a row” is used, and the scene is set for some brain work. To hurt your enemies you have to line up three or more skulls. As well as this you can make different combinations of what is called “mana” – red, yellow, blue and green mana represent the points you use to stage your own attacks, healing yourself and so on. If you for example want to attack with a fire ball it costs three red and three yellow mana. You then have to line up three red mama first, then three yellow mana, and then you can attack your opponent. If you match up four of the same you get another go, if you match up five you get a wildcard which multiplies the mana you were given, at the same time as you get another go. You get experience points and money to upgrade attacks or buy things that will help you during battles. You can also upgrade your city with the purpose to capture enemies, who you then force to teach you their attacks, and to buy experience points and make your own artifacts which will help you in combat. You can take over cities, and now and then you can go through the city to collect money – but watch out, the city might revolt against you!

Child suitability:
There are no fight scenes where you see the characters actually physically hurting each other. This role play is therefore very well suited to children. You soon get observant and learn to see the possibilities and think tactically. Simple controls, no advanced menus and many missions makes Puzzle Quest a long lasting game which easily gets you involved.
